Urban Space Products Celebrate Successful Eco-Street Range Launch at Ecobuild 2011

Urban Space Product’s Paul Garratt headed back North smiling after the launch of the company’s new eco-friendly street furniture range, at the annual Ecobuild Expo. The event, hosted in London’s ExCeL Centre, attracted more than 40,000 visitors and 1,000 separate suppliers from 1st-3rd March.

“The Urban Space Products stand was busy for the entire 3 days,” said the MD. “I was delighted by the overwhelming response and positive comments received for our new Eco-Street product range.”

The event popularity is now further proof that, even in the midst of recession, the construction industry is still placing great importance to eco-friendly products and new, greener ways of working. As always, USP is no exception. Garratt added:

“It confirmed what we had known all along; that there is a definite gap in the UK market for an attractive, contemporary design range of recycled street furniture. Until now that is!”

The range uses postconsumer HDPE, a plastic resin created from recycled milk and juice bottles, butter tubs and other household containers. These come together to create a dense, sturdy material that is perfect for outdoor furniture and shelters.

Visitors to the USP stand were given a first look at one of our new recycled pram shelters, and were invited to have a brief lounge on one of the new outdoor seat-planter combos.

The USP boss also gave a presentation to the assembled green crowd, relevantly titled “Recycling in the Built Environment.”
